Brown looking parts, what do I have here?

Hi all. I had my pool resurfaced and decided to take on the job of all pool maintenance. I have got a good working understanding of the water chemistry and my water is clear, balanced and trouble free.

Before I took over I noticed this brown on the surface and door of my skimmer. Later when I opened up my filter and later my pump when I replaced the motor I saw the brown color there as well.

Anyone identify what the cause is and what/if there is to do about it.

Probably iron. Try some vitamin C to see if it cleans it.
