Has anyone used the Advantage Bronze pumps? They are less than half the price of an equivalent Pentair, and being made of solid bronze, including solid bronze impeller, they have to be more durable than the usual plastic pumps.
I think there are many simple pumps at that price point. I prefer having a clear lid on the pump basket. The wet end of the pump failing is rarely the reason for pump replacement. I think the bronze is a creative marketing gimmick.
A 2hp Pentair WhisperFlo runs about $600. An Advantage Bronze in 2hp is $324. A significant difference for a pump that will never wear out. I don't know who makes their motor but I would guess A. O. Smith/Century.
