My skimmer basket support ring broke in half so I do not get good vacuum suction. This is for an inground pool Not sure of the exact skimmer model is but this is what is printed printed on the underside of the skimmer cover: SP1085,-1, SP1082, SP1085-2, SP1084. Based on the model options, is SPX1082D the correct replacement ring for this model? Half of the ring comes out easily but the other side is tight and not sure if an adhesive was used. So I have a few questions: 1) not know whether adhesive was used, what would be the best method to remove remaining piece without damaging the main skimmer housing? 2) Is the size of the support ring such that it just requires inserting into the skimmer hole which seats on the small ledge of the housing? 3) Is it a friction fit or does it require adhesive? Wanted this info before ordering replacement.
