On my filter cartridge - is this an issue?

Also, my pressure keeps going up, I think I'm gonna mix up some cleaner and give my cart a good 24 hour soak. 1 cup of TSP to 5 gallons of water, right????

With the bands breaking, you may want to consider new cartridges for next season.

How quick is the pressure rising and by how much?

I'm definitely seeing my 25% pressure rise in a day or 2, still definitely filtering out stuff from my SLAM.

What I mean though, is that my clean filter pressure seems to be on an upward trend after hosing it out. I think I need to do a soak and more thoroughly clean than what I have been.

If you are still filtering stuff out from the SLAM Process, then you are still SLAMming correct?

Wait until after the SLAM Process is successfully completed before soaking the cartridges.
When you remove the cartridges for soaking, put the filter back together so you can easily circulate the pool water.

From Cartridge Filter Use and Care - Further Reading

Use hot glue to glue broken bands back together. If you clean the filter in the morning, by late afternoon on a hot day, they are dry enough to hot glue the bands. You only need the surface of the pleat and the band to be dry and it really doesn't need to be completely dry either.

And...if you drip hot glue anywhere you don't want it, using isopropyl alcohol (very near the muriatic acid in the hardware store) will release it. I just paint lots on with a brush, and give it 30 seconds to soak in - then it just peels off.

My water is clear, and I have passed a couple OCLTs. . Not quite as clear as I know it is capable of being with TFP water, but it is "heads or tails on a coin at the bottom of the pool clear. I have been keeping at or close to SLAM levels still while waiting for that sparkle. I’ve just noticed that my clean filter pressure is much higher than last year, and I’ve made no plumbing changes.

Is the stuff you are still filtering out algae - dead or alive?

I don’t think so, when it was dead algae it would coat the outside of the filter cartridge and I could see it being rinsed off. This, I can’t really see anything on the filter but when I go to rinse it down the water doesn’t run clear immediately
