Brand of water test kit

We at TFP recommend either the TF-100 (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C. Both are full of Taylor reagents, but the TF-100 is really a better value.

I had a colourQ, they’re OK I guess but they’re inferior to the TF100 and K2006C because they actually measure total hardness instead of calcium hardness and FC is limited to 10ppm where a FAS/DPD test can measure as high as needed. There is also a extra element of accuracy when a colour metric chemical test is then evaluated with an optical assessment and coefficient correction.

I am leaning towards the TF Pro (salt) w/smart stir, but I am confused where it lists the options. Any advice on which ones I really want/need? First time pool owner so any advice is greatly appreciated!

You only *need* the included smart stir.

If you like gadgets, the PH meter is neat. It needs to be calibrated somewhat frequently and stored a certain way so it's a bit finicky.

The sample sizer dunks into the full vial and displaces all the water except the 10ml or 25 ml you want. Also neat, but it's pretty darn easy to fill the vial to 10 or 25 ml, so not needed.

Salt strips aren't needed at all

Borate strips aren't needed at all.

The XL option is great for newbs or folks needing a SLAM as both will go through more of the FC tests. The XL option will give both plenty to spare.

Thank you! Just placed my order.
