I too took a look at the insecticide boric acid stuff. Be careful and read the fine print. I nearly bough 50lbs of the stuff, but went back to read all the details as I hadn’t stumbled across this thread yet and thought it odd that nobody was talking about using the insecticide stuff if it worked and it was cheaper. Turns out the stuff I was about to buy had a blue dye added to it so you can see where you’ve sprayed it as a bug killer. I’m not sure what the dye is made of, but I don’t suppose it’d be a great addition to your pool.

I got mine from duda diesel earlier this year. No problems with dye and pool is gorgeous!

Yup, Duda is the place to go if you will be adding borates.

I alwasy have to say, borates are toxic to animals at higher levels. If you have dogs that drink form the pool do your research before adding.
