Booster pump on its way out?

Howdy,

My booster pump makes strange noises on startup that eventually disappear after running for a few minutes. Is this indicative of a pump that is about to go out? It's the original pump when my pool as installed 15 years ago and hasn't had any maintenance done since at least 3 years ago when I purchased the property.

Here are some videos of the pump:

Also, should my cleaner's line have this leak?

Thanks,
Rand

Booster pumps can get noisy and keep running for years.

The squeal sound like a bad bearing.

Eventually you will replace the motor or pump.

The leak should not be there. Check the plastic nut and O ring. If you cannot stop the leak then replace the swivel.

Thanks for the response! I've ordered some new swivels.

Is replacing bearings a normal maintenance item or do you just wait for the pump to die and replace it?
