Booster pump leaking

We have a Polaris La01n booster pump we replaced last year. It started shooting water from the top of the volute where we noticed it had cracked. We also noticed the pool vacuum had come out of the wall. We put the vacuum back into the wall, but when we turned it on again, the pressure was trying to push the vacuum out of the wall again. We since replaced the Volute but when we turned it back on, it was still leaking. My guess is that a seal has broken. Our system takes in a ton of pine needles as our neighbors tree is constantly shedding them. As a result, we are constantly having to open the pump to clean the basket and then prime the pump. Wondering if this has something to do with the booster pump leaking in the first place. Any feedback is appreciated.

Welcome to TFP.

Booster pump should be picking up water after the filter and not be affected by what happens in the main pump. Unless the main pump got clogged, ran dry, and then the booster pump ran dry. Running dry is not good for pumps n
