Hello. We are new to pools. We bought a house back in October that has a 20x40x4' I ground pool. The previous owner closed it an told us when we opened it that it would look like a pond and said it always does an it's not hard to get it ready to swim. Well 2 weeks ago we opened it an the water was dark green. We put shock, algaecide, an tons of chlorine. It pretty much cleared up after about a week of hitting it with shock an chlorine. Was finally able to get a chlorine reading. All my levels are testing within range except the CYA. I know that won't make the pool cloudy. We have scrubbed an vacuumed it pretty much every day just to make sure it's clean. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong. Wife is ready to drain an refill.
