Blue Devil CYA Reagent

I use the BD reagent with the BD test tube. I also have the Taylor 9058 test comparator that comes with the K-2006. I have held the test tubes up to each other. And, I can confirm they are different. For example, the 60 line on a BD lines up with 80 on Taylor. This would lead me to believe that the BD reagent is probably going to be a little cloudier. Thus, it will most likely give false high readings if you were to use BD reagent with a Taylor test tube.

I have used my Pentair sliding dot test kit (Same as the Blue Devil) with both the R-0013 and the reagent that came with the kit and can see zero difference.

The graduations are different, but so is the size of the dot and the amount of test water. If there is a reading difference, I can't see it. The 50 ppm standard tests at 50 ppm or at least close as there is still some subjectivity.

For me the sliding dot is much easier to use, but takes way more reagent than the TF-100 test kit.

Thanks,

Jim R.
