I am in the Philly area. I bought my 8.25% bleach from Wal Mart last season. This year I do not they are not selling 8.25% only 6%. Anyone know where they are selling 8.25% in the area? Also, I saw germicidal bleach from Home Depot. Can I use that?

Home Depot here sells the HDX pool chlor chlorinating liquid in the pool isle and is 10%. Check the date code printed on the box in black it will be in this format.......18 150, where 18 is the year and 100 is the day number with 001 being Jan 1, so this example is April 10, 2018. Don't buy anything over two months old.
Avoid any bleach with "fabric protector" or Cloromax listed. Companies have started adding some extras to bleach that you don't want in your pool and it is getting more difficult to find pure bleach at a reasonable price.
I would keep a lookout for liquid pool chlorine. It will come in 10% or 12.5% and is guaranteed to only be sodium hypochlorite.

Clorox is doing the same thing so looks like our backup plan for bleach is getting washed out.
Are there any Ocean State Job Lots in your area? Our local OSJL sells 1-gallon jugs of 12.5% sodium hypochlorite for $2.99, and it is always fresh.
if u usually buy the walmart brand bleach why not just buy thier 2 pack pool chlorine. 10%
