Blank slate/Pool build in Maryland

I can imagine it, and it's going to look awesome! What interior finish are you doing?

We are doing gray plaster. I wanted Pebbletec but I'd have to sell my truck to afford it. :D

Darn and double darn on the dirt not being enough! yeah on not being able to unsee what was pointed out..........gurrrrrrrrrrrrr LOL

Kim:kim:

Yeah, the pool builder told me that all along but I had my fingers crossed. Oh well.

BTW, how many pallets of stone did they use for your coping? I think your pool looks a lot bigger than mine, but I'm curious.

It was one pallet. Here is what is left, enough for stepping stones from the deck when we replace it!

It was really windy today but I sent the Mavic up anyway because this was a good excuse to fly it.

Here you can see the grade difference:

And some more of the tile and coping in what must be the worst possible light for photography (coping looked better when it was clean):

Looks great! We had 2 pallets delivered, so I think we might have a lot left over. Can you fly your drone over to my house?!!

BTW, are the other stones for your waterfall/water feature? Can't wait to see that.

Yeah two pallets seems like a lot if it is just for coping. Is it going around your patio or anything too?

My drone has a pretty good range but it won't quite make it to you. ;)

Yes, the other two pallets are for the waterfall. It's supposed to be built "early this week."

Four more trucks of fill dirt came in yesterday, I'm hoping this is the last of it.

That bootprint is going to show through the plaster. I'd be worried.

JK.

I just can’t remember how loud my 2hp fixed speed pump was. I tell it is so much quieter. That alone was worth it.
I like the way it spools up to speed softly. That just has to contribute to longevity of something.

Well we were supposed to have the waterfall done over the weekend or early this week. I'd say that time window about expired so I reached out to the builder who said the waterfall is now this weekend or next week. More grading is supposed to happen tomorrow using the four more truckloads of dirt that were dropped off on Sunday. Then patio prep next week.

It will be in the 90s this weekend so we're starting to get frustrated. The original timeline was 6-8 weeks and swimming by Memorial Day but that seems unlikely at this point since this week is #7. Other than 2-3 days of delay because of snow pushing the dig back, we have had some great weather for the most part so I'm not sure why it is taking so long. I know I've read a lot of threads here where people are in the same position as I am in now--it starts up quickly and then there are weeks where little to nothing happens. When it happens to you, it's still frustrating, even if you know it will probably happen!

But I want it done NOW!!!!! GUrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Hey PB!!! Yeah over here!!!! Get some work done please!!!

Lets see if that does any good LOL Yeah it is hard to deal with when it is this close. If only they would get in and get out without any misses.

I always recommend adding a month to expected completion due dates. Set the bar low but don’t stop inquiring/squeaking.

I feel your pain, we are in the same boat. Had a call on 4/29 with PB and coping was supposed to be 5/2. Here we are on May 9th and nothing! I left a message with my PB yesterday. Now it is going to rain tomorrow, so another week wasted. So, so frustrating.

Yeah I'll probably start following up every few days.

A new development today. I noticed last night that somebody had fixed the silt fence again that the dump truck driver had removed to dump the fill dirt. I happen to walk over there this morning and realize that both pallets of the waterfall rocks have been opened and 5-6 rocks seem to be missing. This had to have happened in the past two days. I am assuming the builder needed them for another build or something and it wasn't some nice person driving down the road who decided they needed them more than I did.

Yeah, that is weird and wrong. Even if the PB did need them, they should have let you know. How wide is your waterfall going to be? Hard to tell from the pics. Ours is about 12 feet wide and 3 feet tall. We had 4 pallets of stone with about 8 decent sized stones left over.

Count me in on the impatiently waiting party. I have to keep reminding myself that it is pool building season and our builder has done a great job so things could be a lot worse.

Yeah I'm trying to do the same thing. I don't have any complaints on the work that has been done, I just want it done and my yard back! Not to mention we still have a ton of work ahead of us to get everything back in order.

I was given an approximation of "12 feet wide." I didn't really get a height. I was thinking about your pictures when I thought that it didn't seem like enough but now that I am looking at it again our one pallet seems to be about the same size as yours. The other one is 1-2 feet taller (or was...).

I'll measure the shelf thing shortly.
