Black or blue solar cover? What temp can you start using pool?

I was looking online and saw that solar pool covers now come in black. Do they perform better than the blue? How warm does the pool need to be before you can start swimming?

And has anyone ever used one of those solar pool heaters?

Clear ones out perform dark ones as they allow the suns rays to penetrate the water.

Whatever temp you can stand. There are folks that think 50 is great and others that won't even dip a toe if it's under 70. As long as the water is gin clear and the numbers are right, enjoy!!

Get the solar cover that matches your patio furniture. Color is really insignificant in how they work. Their main purpose is to stop evaporation.

As Bob said temperature is subjective go swimming when the water is comfortable for you. If the kids are swimming watch them closely if the water is under 70 and make sure they know the early signs of hypothermia. It's best to know your own limits because everyone handles being cold different.
