I have been following the recommended procedures and am on day nine with good results but still working on tuff areas. (running low on elbow grease) With CYA 50-60 and FC 15 -20 I've been running the pump when adding chlorine and while brushing , 4-6 hrs per day. Is it recommended to run the pump longer for best results when treating for black algae?
There are no pump time requirements. Maintaining the elevated FC levels and brushing the black algae areas is your focus. Can take quite some time to be successful.

Unlike green algae, black algae there is no need to run the pump all the time. You are just letting the chlorinated water sit on the surface of the black algae. The brushing is required to break the surface off the black algae.
Run your pump for a reason. First is to create/distribute the chlorine needed each day. Next is for skimming. Last is for water clarity, which normally is covered by the first two.
