We opened our pool for the season last week (inground 15k gallon vinyl liner 9 years old) and when it started to clear up, we see what looks like black algae. Talked with the pool company (showed them a picture) and they told us to put 6lbs of "Burnout 73" and 14oz of "Banish", wait 24 hours then vacuum the algae, then repeat. However, we have done 2 treatments per pool company recommendations and "black algae" has shown no signs of lifting or coming up.
We have always used Sustain Pool Chemicals for our pool and never had a problem like this, our water has always been clear, never any issues.
Could this be a liner issue? We are open to any suggestions. Thank you all.

I'm going to put a couple links below to help get you started and give you something to go on. But without a doubt you'll need to ensure you are testing your water with a TF-100 (link in my signature) or Taylor K-2006C if not already. If you are, please post a full set of results.
