Black Algae and Replaster

Hi all,
We had some bad pitting on our pool and black algae took hold. After fighting for a bit decided to fix the plaster problem. The crew has chipped away some of the plaster but it’s evident the black algae had some deep roots. I’m wondering if more works needs to be done before replastering

- maybe chip out some more?
- spray chlorine on all these spots?
- don’t worry about it, it’s about to be buried under plaster?

Thanks in advance :)

I would hit those spots with a pressure washer, and then hit them with chlorine. I would not want to plaster over black algae.

You might get a better answer from some of the replastering experts around here.

No plaster over black algae.
