bioguard replacement reagents for Taylor test kit?

Good morning. I'm in a bit of a bind as I'm opening a new hot tub and need to test PH regularly, but have run out of phenol red reagent for PH. Normally I would order my replacements from this site, but I need them in a hurry. My local pool store only sells bio guard products so they have the following reagent:

Hydropool.com | BioGuard Phenol Red pH Indicator Reagent - 1 oz - Item 26242

They told me it would work fine as a replacement for my Taylor kit but I'm not so sure. Can anyone confirm?

Which pH comparator block are you using?

Be aware that the Taylor pH indicators have chlorine neutralizer allowing the use up to 10 ppm FC. The non Taylor products are normally only good to 5 ppm FC, at most.

Always use a pH solution in the comparator it is designed for. If you absolutely need a pH test today then I would just get their cheapest pH/chlorine test so you are using the correct comparator.

Marty is correct too that if your FC is above 5 then you needn't bother as most all non-Taylor pH tests will not register accurately.
