Aloha from the big island. I had to pretty much leave my pool for the month of Feb to the elements and now I have a green pool. I shocked it a day ago. Waited a day and went and got some algaecide added that.. four hours later added phosphate remover.. before all this I did run the pump and I brushed the sides and bottom . Running the pump now going out to test the chemicals. It's still cloudy but not as bad. I'm new to the pool ( above ground 3400 gallons)

It's preventative only. And not even needed provided you are following the FC/CYA Levels. It can't overcome exponential algae growth.
four hours later added phosphate remover..
Also not needed. You need to
SLAM Process. Follow the instructions to a T. It's a 'process' not a one-and-done. The road to TFP is paved with hundreds of thousands of folks that failed the inattentive pool store way. Ask away with any questions and we'll gladly help fill in any blanks.

You'll need a reliable test kit to be successful. see Test Kits Compared

Good luck and keep us posted. :)

Welcome and good luck w your pool! As a fairly new owner I can tell you there is a wealth of information on this site and the app is great (but YOU assign the target values not the app—important point I just learned) Lots of helpful people to support you. Just follow the instructions! 😃
