Best time to buy equipment for

My controller has failed so I am planning on purchasing a new controller and salt cell before next season.
Anyone have advice for when the best time to purchase would be? Off season in the winter or wait until spring?

What brand and model "controller" do you have in mind?

Given the supply chain shortages and lack of availability buy what you want when you can find it. There are few deals to be had but I am sure prices will go up as we get into 2022.

As ajw22 said, the best time to buy pool equipment is yesterday as prices are steadily going up. A piece of equipment I need for a customer 6 weeks ago that I purchased through distribution for $154 was $205 yesterday when I needed another for a job next week. All manufacturers are expecting to raise their prices about 14% by Spring.
