I switched from a pressure side Polaris cleaner to a robot awhile back and put a little fountain on the now disused port at the side of the pool, which would create a big fountain if I turned on the old Polaris pump. That pump has since died, and I kind of liked the ability to occasionally create that fountain. If I wanted to swap in a replacement pump, what would be a basic, cheap but good enough model to order just for such a minor water feature. I recall reading on this forum that a fountain would not create as much resistance as a Polaris cleaner so that the pump would be too powerful for that usage over time (which may have contributed to it fritzing out, tho it was very old anyway) so presumably what I am looking for here would be relatively weak …
