Best Overall algaecide

Welcome to TFP!
I recommend checking out Pool School and reviewing posts on the forum. A lot of experts around to help out when you need it. The only requirement is that you do your own testing so they can be sure of the results. Link in my signature for the TF-100 but the K2006C is also a good one.

Algicides, flocculants etc. are not needed to maintain a crystal clear pool. They generally cause more issues than the original problem.

There are still people who use pucks, liquid chlorine can be a hassle to buy, expensive, difficult to store and dispose of all the bottles. Poly60 can be used as a weekly dosing in those pools and be a sufficient back up should chlorine get low. Bioguard is the#1 marketed pool chemical product in NA, Algaecide is in their pucks.

Their silk guard pucks are pretty popular and they work great for a while. But eventually, there will be problems.

Ingredients:
Trichlor, Boric acid and a little Copper sulfate.

Most silk guard users won’t care about the copper until it becomes a problem........Then they come here.
