Best Method to Measure CYA Level

I have a test kit which measures CYA level using turbidity test. I find it hard to get a precise reading. Determining when the black dot disappears is subjective.

Is the turbidity test really better than using CYA strips? Is there some better third way to measure CYA that I don't know about?

What is the most precise way to measure CYA?

Thanks.

Turbidity is the best by far, though difficult getting used to.

any kind of test strip is a guess strip at best.

best method of testing is full sun to your back, with the vial
at waist level, looking down. (shaded by your body)

Add the liquid to the first level starting at the bottom, then look away,
then at the dot...still see it? fill up to next level indicator...repeat until
you get a reading where you just barely / don't see it at all.

ooops ya forgot to say room temp (or warmer) water!

I had noticed when I tested earlier just after winter I was getting false low readings
unless the water sample was near 70 degrees. It is way more accurate at room temp or higher.
