Been dealing with this for over a year. Any thoughts?

Big head scratch-er. So today, flow reduced. Tried something new. Just shut off pump and turned right back on. The Pump has a "Priming" start speed of 3450 RPMS. It stays at this level until it senses good flow (primed) or 10 secs. Just shut off and turned on a flow returned. Also, in the afternoon as the flow reduced, I through the Valve into recirculate. Stayed stings rest of day. Switched back to filter and flow was good (no backwash). Tomorrow I am going to soak in TSP for a few hours. Has to be in the filter and just maybe the Phosphate free TSP didn't clean it good enough
Will report back tomorrow.

Really can't be the filter unless you also have a bad pressure gauge. Any clogging or restriction in the filter would show as increased pressure.

Just to throw this out there about DE filters. To do a proper back wash on a de filter you should backwash 30 seconds then rinse 10 seconds then repeat this process 2 more times then go into filter. Once running in Filter for your Filter you should add 6lbs of de. Do not do quick backwashes. If you backwash or clean the filters you should not run it without de. If you run it without DE then the dirt and crud will coat your grids and you will not be able to back wash it off. The only way to clean that off would to dissemble your filter remove the manifold and separate each grid and hose off the "mud".

How the filter works is the dirt collect on the de that is coating the grids and then you can backwash the de off the grids with the dirt on it and add a fresh layer of de back on the grids.

Also when ya check the pressure gauge flick it a couple of times. When they get old they tend to get stuck. Also when the pool turns off the gauge should go back to 0.

Couldn't hurt to clean the filter again. We have basically the same equipment you have, and had a minor flow issue when we first installed the Intelliflo. But once we got the filter squeaky clean and the right amount of DE in it, it's flowed steady and been rock solid at all speeds. How confident are you that the filter's pressure gauge is working as it should? If it's as old as ours was, you might consider replacing it. It's a cheap part.

Gauge is working properly. Here is something else I noticed today. I was out for quite awhile working around the pool and I noticed the flow slow after 1 hour. Here is whats odd. All I needed to in order to restore flow (trying diff things to see what makes a diff), was shut off pump and then restart. Flow was good after restart. No backwash no nothing. Another think I noticed is that when I shut the pump off, I watched the water flow in the Salt Cell go backwards for a second and air came in. (I took video and will post in a few). I also ran the pool in Recirc and no flow loss. When I shut pool off in Recirc, the flow in the salt cell just stopped. No backward flow and no air. Didnt have time to TSP grids but will throw in recirc tomorrow and soak in TSP for 8 Hours.
