Draining my pool to fill it fresh after algae, but is a shop vac vacuuming over the wall the best way to get whatever remains in those last few inches of water below the drain port? Figure that's probably the worst of the worst in that water, and my little handheld pool vacuum says it needs to be submerged so not enough water for that.

If you're concerned your shop vac may be too powerful and suck a hole in your liner, you could add enough water to submerge your hand pool vac.
Thinking I'll use the shop vac best I can then use the vacuum once it's deep enough on the refill. Probably not the greatest but might be the best I can do with what I have.
