Hi there, my new spa circulation pump stopped 4 or 5 hours after initial startup during heating up. Something tripped the earth leakage breaker. Filling level and priming was fine, the flow of the circulation pump was visible and I think strong enough for that size of pump. Now I found out that the pump does not get any power from the Balboa control PCB. The connectors are good, the pump can be switched on/off via the touch panel, but there is no power at the pump itself. There is no obvious damage on the PCB or components. Balboa model BP6013G3, pump LX JA50 0,37kW. Will talk to the spa company next week, let's see what they suggest.

If it's a new spa and wasn't ran dry or air-locked, or miswired, it's likely a warranty issue. Bad parts happen sometimes, they can't test all of them, and there should be no issues with warranty from a reputable dealer. You should see little delay in the repair from the dealer if he has the parts in stock, maybe even on the first trip.
Do not attempt to fix this or "poke around" in the controls, but do take pics of the wiring and circuit board. A shady dealer could blame wiring, especially if not done by a licensed electrician as required in your warranty, and charge you, then warranty the board and get paid again by the manufacturer. It's fraud, and they'd get into alot of trouble if caught so don't think it's a common practice, but I've seen it happen. Best to have evidence. I take pictures of rental cars before I leave the lot and at return as well, it's just covering your butt. 😉
What brand is it?
