Whoa -- just saw the CH level. If that is correct. Drain the pool and fill with fresh.

Pool had the same CH levels last season. Pool store (I know, bad advice) said everyone's pool in our location has high CH levels due to water in our area. They advised just leaving it and balancing all other chemicals. I know pool stores don't give the best advice, but that is what they told us.

Do you have large amounts of water line scale?

That is the CH level using your own test kit, right?

Can you test your tap water for CH to confirm that you won't be better off draining and refilling?

I would suggest draining a couple of inches every time you expect heavy rain and let the zero calcium water from the sky fill it back up.

That is crazy high calcium, which is why we're all going WHAT ???

Barring user error on hardness test. His ph is extremely low 6.8 to compensate for that I haven’t plugged it in to LSI or know his water temp but he’s probably still a bit corrosive a negative value.
True. Just very hard to maintain a low pH and TA without crashing the pH.
