Cut the top off leaving it connected by a little plastic hinge, stack it with 3" tablets, close the top and secure it with duck tape. Works just fine and lasts longer

Or, preferably, do not use trichlor tablets for daily maintenance as it creates problems with proper chemistry of your pool water.

The amount of people arriving here this year looking for ways to refill a bac pac is somewhat odd. Apparently word is getting out how overpriced it is. Unfortunately that's true of all Frog items, the chlorine tablets aren't the only one. Not to mention much of it is going to cause other issues (staining, overstabilization, etc) that will be even more expensive to fix. On top of it providing an inferior swimming experience to pools managed to TFPC.

i still use my frog chlorinator when i go on vacation. i just put several 3” pucks in a linen bag and toss it in the fixture
