Backwashing

Yes, shipped from E Bay but then it became impossible to get replacement reagents.
They guy I bought the kit from, would not ship them either.
For what you pay for a complete set of reagent refills, for a few dollars more, you can just buy a new complete kit.
When I visited USA last July I had a few sets delivered to where I was staying and hand carried them back myself.
Taylor referred me a freight forwarder they use, but they also won't ship by air.
I tried to organize putting it on the slow boat to China so it wouldn't be in the air and that was also hitting roadblocks.
I even asked Taylor if they would like to open a market in Asia and I would be their distributor, never got a reply.
The last 5 years of my career in Oil and Gas I was the material Manager and in charge of import and export of billions of dollars of materials for LNG plants in Australia and China, so I have lived experience in marketing, procurement, and import / export. I think it would have been a good opportunity for Taylor but they must have had valid reasons for not wanting to do it.

Great contribution to the Aus economy, Bruce, and good to see those LNG ops starting to ship. But I wouldn't want to be holding their debt!

That's great to know, thanks. I started a list of how 'internationals' have obtained testing supplies so I can let new people know. It remains a bit hit and miss. One recently here in Aus had their K-2006 held up while customs checks it out. Not sure if that got resolved. I suppose border protection might be ensuring it's not part of a meth lab or something.

Aussie Customs are some of the toughest of any country I have been in but good on them to protect your borders.
As far as shipping, the problem is air freighting acids and oxidizer, I believe it can be up to a 10,000 dollar fine.
Actually some of what I brought back may go out of date before I use it.
Most likely those are not drop dead dates but best if used by dates.........within reason.

Hi Dave,

I said I would heed your advice not to Floc and I did.
I ran the pool 12-18 hrs a day and checked it each night after the water went still and then turn the lights on.
it is now back to shimmering crystal clear.

Thanks to you and others for your experienced advice.
Nice to have this off my mind. I strive to keep the pool pristine and now it is again.

thanks,

Bruce
