B&D Pump Starts Randomly

Hi everyone, I have a Black & Decker 1.5 HP variable speed pump, which works great. But it started turning on (at 1000 rpm) on its own at random times during the day. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have it set to run automatically at night (which works fine). This is really a headscratcher for me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Pauliepal, I installed the same B&D pool pump in the fall of 2023 and I'm experiencing the same issue but only after the scheduled "Speed 4" has completed it's time. So, at random times the pump turns on at 1000 rpm when it is scheduled to be off. It is a head scratcher! Have you or anyone out there discovered why this specific pump turns on when it's not scheduled? Please help, thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

Have you contacted B+D about your problem? I hear their support is pretty good since you paid a premium for it over the identical Calimar and Circupool pumps.

Hi Everyone,
I'm starting a new thread regarding my B&D 1.5 variable speed pump that I installed at the end of 2023. I love this pump but I'm frustrated with just this one issue that "pauliepal" from CA and "guinness" also from CA had a TFP thread regarding this same problem going on in 2022. The issue was with a power outage and that the clock time had to be reset. The time on my pump is correct but after the scheduled times have completed (at the end of "Speed 4"), in theory, the pump should not turn on again until the next scheduled time which is "Speed 1" starting the next day at 0800. BTW - my pump's schedule runs at 4 various scheduled speeds and times from 0800 until 1900 ("Speed 1, 2, 3, and 4") and is in the "Scheduled" and not the "Manual" position, it's never in "Manual". However, sometimes after the pump has stopped for the day at 1900 with "Speed 4" ending, the pump starts running again at random times only for an hour and only at 1000 rpm throughout the evening and morning. This is very frustrating! Please help, thank you.
