Auto Cover Issue

During the recent heatwave here in the West, during the day the auto cover on my spa will neither open nor retract without continually stopping every foot or so. This seems to be temperature-realated since the problem does not seem to occur during the evenings. The auto cover & motor were installed about 6 years ago. The motor is a CoverPool Tenv Gearmotor (#050348) manufactured by Baldor Electric.

Any suggestions you might offer would be most appreciated. Thank you kindly.

You can put something over it to keep it shaded and keep the heat of the motor

The motor is already located under removable spa deck pavers. However, I need to address the problem in the motor or the auto cover mechanism.
