Oh wait! Pool stores will test it for free......................right??? Well is it really free if you walk out of the store with your arms full and you wallet empty??? You will find you don't need to or really want to go to the pool store or use a pool service. Everything you need for your pool can be bought at your regular stores. For us it is Lowes or Walmart. Find a good source for liquid chlorine and you will be good to go.

I am sad to tell you it is not needed or really wanted. SAY WHAT?? Yeah it is easy to use BUT the tablets add extra stuff to your pool like CYA (stabilizer). If you get too much CYA in the water the only way to remove it is to exchange some of the water. Take a look a this:
FC/CYA Levels This explains the FC (Free chlorine) & CYA relationship. It is a case of too much of a good thing over time. You will see from the chart in the link how your pool will need more chlorine the higher the CYA levels are.
