AstralPool pumps

Hi all

Thinking of replacing my single speed 1HP pump with a 2 speed to save on energy, plenty of time not planning on doing it until next season.

Anyone here familiar with AstralPool brand?
Currently own a CTX 280, thinking of an E-Combi EEV2 only if union threads are cross-compatible to avoid plumbing works.
If union threads not compatible, then I'm not bound to AstralPool anymore, so which 2-speed pump would you recommend?
Or would you recommend VS?
I don't have any special features in the pool except for my Polaris 360 pressure side cleaner (no booster pump required) so what would be the benefits of a VS compared to 2-speed?

i would go the Astral Pool Viron xt320 series as you adjust the speed of the pump and its a direct swap over for you so you can screw the old one and slide the new one in

Looks good but a bit pricey @ $1900AU
Most VS pumps I've been looking at are under a grand, 2-speed pumps generally $100-200 cheaper than VS. It won't cost me $1000 to do a little plumbing to the new unions.

Anyone else has a suggestion?
