My pool has been significantly impacted by ASR and there is no telling when the shell will fail on me, it’s severely cracked but still holding together.
Now I do have cracked skimmers that I’ve patched multiple times, first with pool putty, then next with a more strong epoxy like ultrabond which has lasted a good 8 months, but even this is now cracking. Given how the cracks are on both sides opposite to each other it tells me that there is perpendicular forces due to ASR compressing the skimmer resulting in the continued cracks.
Given the ASR issues, I don’t want to pay money to replace the skimmer in its entirety, just looking at uniques ways to continue patching the skimmers. Any good ideas out there? The 2 pics are from the same skimmer.
Should I drill some holes from the outside to alleviate pressure on the skimmers? Should I trying using expanding spray foam some how to seal the cracks?
