I finally got the dreaded ASR issue within 16 months of building it. My builder started the warranty process but he has more than 150 that were shot. So, loooong time. In the mean time, I am losing water. I decided not to fill in as it is going to lose water an inch a day and I am slapped with heavy water bill every month. My builder said its going to be a loooong process with warranty as there are multiple insurance companies involved and a lot of back and forth. So, expect at least 6 months to an year.
In the mean time, I want to ask the experts, has anyone converted to Fiberglass from gunite? I know it can be easy process on the pool but I am more concerned about the pipes due to ASR issue if I can reuse those or just ignore them and have new set of pipes.
Just feel terrible after spending so much money and left with a shot pool.
Really appreciate the input if anyone has done this. I just want to have some pool to get it going.
