Ariel problems with coping and beaching

Curious if any other Ariel owners have solved the issues of coping scratching the sensors and the unit beaching itself on steps.

I am a big fan of Solar Breeze and really want the Ariel to work but I haven’t got more than 3 weeks out of one before having to exchange it.

Support has provided me with acrylic blocks but they do not protect the sensors except for a 90 degree hit. Also, they are weighing down the front of the unit and is causing it to needlessly spin.

I sent support a follow up email on how to resolve and am waiting a reply. I will update if I hear back but it the meantime …. Any owners solve these issues?

I just checked this out. Seems like a floating skimmer. Not sure why anyone would need this. It looks like it only is effective on stuff floating in the center of the pool. I think most pools the stuff that blows in either sinks or is directed to the edge where it eventually hits the skimmers. Also seems REALLY pricey for what you get. My advice is if you can return it, return it.

Any idea why do your skimmers do not work as they should?

Do your skimmers have weir doors between the skimmer mouth and the basket area?

Our pool has 2 skimmers: on the shallow and deep ends (doors working as they should). They "work" in that it gets most of the debris but some cling to the water/wall interface. Sometimes some of the debris does not make it to the skimmers and sink to the bottom. Other times, debris on windy days make the pool unsightly and I have to manually skim before getting in. With these solar skimmers, the surface is virtually clean 24/7 and prevents the debris from sinking (less need to vacuum the pool floor). I can see if your built-in skimmers do a great job, you wouldn't need these (I'm jealous).

Buckslivin, have you tried to raise or lower the water level: low enough so it doesn't hit the irregular coping or high enough that the bumpers work? Personally, I would try to raise the level as this should help with beaching on the steps too (if its not too high for your built-in skimmer(s)).
