are these cracks in my skimmer

we have noticed greater than usual water loss the past couple weeks and the water would eventually settle around the bottom of the skimmer opening. I took a look today and saw these hairline cracks where it looks like some sort of seam is separating. both skimmers are doing this. is this superficial or do we have a genuine leak here. yard shows no sign of excess moisture. sorry for the photo quality and debris.

Not a crack, just the skimmer support ring.

You can use food coloring in a baby syringe to test for leaks by squirting the dye near the crack to see if it gets sucked in.

Most pharmacies will give you a syringe for free or about $1.00.


Thanks. I'll try that. I just wasn't sure if visible cracks like that were indicative of a problem.
