We're planting a half dozen arbor vitae (western spring) upwind (of the prevailing winds anyway). Hoping to improve swimming comfort, winter cover survivability, and deck umbrellas.
I'm here asking if anyone has advice on distance away from the above ground pool to plant. We're currently planning 5.5 feet. That should let the branches just brush the pool at the base, but not over hang the water once fully grown.
We're doing about 40% of the circumference, so leaves plenty of room to get at the pool for maintenance, putting on cover, etc.
