Aquatrol RJ leaking at return.

Hey everyone. I just my new pool up and running and the return fitting coming out of my Aquatrol RJ is leaking. Th oring is in there, and I've taken it apart and put it back together several times to no avail.
We are leaving for vaca this week and I'm worried about the leak.
Anyone else have this problem?

Lube the o rings, tighten well, make sure you don’t cross thread it. A good pair of gloves can save your hands from being cut as you try to turn them tighter.

I drained the pool below the return and took it completely apart to start over. I used teflon tape on all the threads, made sure they were not over tightened, not cross threaded. Filled it back up and I swear it is leaking from every single connection.
Leaking around the return from the wall, around the fitting and nut coming off the return, leaking from the 90 (on both ends) leading to the Aquatrol cell, leaking on both sides of the cell, and leaking from the hose connecting the cell to the pump.
All small leaks, but i have NEVER experienced anything this maddening in my 5+ years of pool ownership.
WHY IS THIS THING LEAKING????!!!!!!!!
