AquaPure PLC1400 Not Generating Chlorine

My AquaPure has pretty much stopped generating chlorine and I was hoping to get ideas for items to check. The system is original to the pool when I had it built, which was 3 years ago.

The "CELL ON" light rarely comes on, and it only stays lit for a few seconds when it does. I confirmed no chlorine generation by lack of bubbles in the returns (it used to generate bubbles when the SWG was working) and testing chlorine level with a dropper kit.

Here's what I've tested / tried:
* Tri sensor appears to be working. The "flow" indicator is light, and it's correctly set on Program A based on the firmware number.
* I removed the power cable to the cell and all three terminals are intact and clean. I added some dielectric grease and reinstalled but still no chlorine generation.
* The salt cell has minimal scale buildup. The plates are clean. There was just a little bit of scale at the ends.

I hate to start throwing new parts at this. If I did, I would probably start with a new control board, which is around $200.

Appreciate any thoughts or ideas on this.

Thanks - I did read through and check the things suggested in that article. Unfortunately, none of those diagnostics worked for me, and my specific issue isn't in there (can't get the "CELL ON" and make chlorine).

Interestingly, I confirmed that the cell is working by putting the SWG into Boost mode. It's making chlorine now in Boost, but that stops once I take it out of Boost mode (which only lasts 24 hours).

At this point, I believe that the triflow sensor and cell are working, which points to the control board or transformer. The control board has a lot of test points for voltage, but the installation manual doesn't say how to test these.

Any additional help would be appreciated!

Do you have iAqualink?

Edit: saw your build thread, and you do. What are the AquaPure settings in iAqualink showing?

iAqualink shows the percent I set, currently at 75%. When I turn on Boost, the ”CELL ON” light comes on and I can see chlorine being generated. With Boost off, the “CELL ON” occasionally turns on and the 75% is shown. However, the vast majority of the time, the “CELL ON” light is off and the chlorine percent shows 0%.

The flow light stays on the entire time. I hate to spend the money on a new control board without confirming it’s the culprit, but that’s my best guess so far.

Update: FIXED. The problem was with the iAquaLink control box not talking properly to the SWG box. I disconnected the control cable between the two boxes and the SWG works perfectly now.

The only negative is that I lost the ability to check or control the SWG % from the iAquaLink app, which isn’t a big deal. I have to manually change the SWG % at the box now.

Is it possible that the control cable is bad? Not sure how expensive they are but probably one of the cheapest parts to throw at it.

I suppose it’s possible, but the “cable” is really just 4 wires that are hard wired in at each end. There isn’t a plug at either end, just bare wires that are directly connected. Either way, I’m up and running, and I rarely change the SWG % anyways.

Aquapure 1400 121 Error

I got the 121 error on my FusionSoft a couple days ago. I cleaned the cell and the sensor and the cell ran fine for about a day. Not this morning, it is back. It is still producing chlorine I can see bubbles out of the returns and the display also says it is on. I think my salt may be a little...
