I just replaced the board on the SWG. No lights were on except power.

First day when I turned on the SWG it shows the salt level of 3300 then about 15 seconds later it clicked over to showing Hi on the screen and the red light at high minerals was on

Day 2 it showed 3100 , then clicked over to hi.

Day 3 today, 2900 then clicked to hi.

Testing with the Taylor K1766 kit, I show 4400-4600.

How much lower does the salt level need to be for the SWG to run?

Thanks

For AquaRite, move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.

Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.

Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.

Switching the unit off and then back on makes the unit reverse polarity.

Report all readings.

What is the T-cell size?

Is the T-cell size set correctly in settings?

Here are the settings. I don't see the setting for the T cell, but when I first powered it on after the board replacement I remember seeing it showing 15. Not sure how to find that now.

2900
77
31.3
0
5P
AL-0
1.59
E-3 (kind of looks like an E, but the top line is missing)

2900
77
25.2-31.1 (started at 25.2 then adjusted up to 31.1)
0
5P
AL-0. 1.59. E-3

Thanks, switched the t cell to 15. Now green light is on at generating sanitizer and mineral shows 3400.

I guess I'm all set?

Thanks again for all your help

You should verify the actual salinity to determine the performance percentage of the cell.

The instant salinity divided by the actual salinity is the performance percentage of the cell.

3,400/4,400 = 77%.

At 75%, it's time to consider replacing the cell.

At 60%, it's time to replace the cell.

However, you want to triple check the actual salinity before you decide that the cell is bad.

The cell was replaced 3 years ago. We've had scaling issues. Possible the cell just needs cleaning? I haven't taken it out to inspect.

The cell might be underperforming.

3,400/4,000 = 85%.

Check for scale and keep checking the performance percentage.

Triple check the salinity to be really sure before replacing the cell.

Maybe get a digital meter.

Is the cell a genuine Hayward or a generic?

I'll order a digital meter.

It's the performance percentage the cell reading from the test reading?

Genuine Hayward

The performance percentage of the cell is the instant salinity divided by the actual salinity.

What are the first 7 characters of the cell serial number?

What day did you buy the cell?

Actually two years old. I ordered it 7/29/2019.

OK, you have a 3 year warranty.

If the performance percentage falls below 75% before the three year time is over, you can take the cell in to a shop to have it tested and replaced if it fails the test.
Now the SWG is reading 3900
