Aqua Rite X281 high salt cutoff?

Pressing the diagnostic button sequentially will display:

  • Default Average salt display
  • Pool temp
  • Cell Voltage - When not generating, the voltage is about 30 to 32 volts dc. When generating, the voltage drops about 1 volt per amp of current.
  • Cell current (Amperage).
  • Desired output (% of the knob)
  • Instant salinity
  • Product name
  • Software revision (r.XX)
  • Cell type.
If the amperage hits 8.0, then the unit will shut down.

Default Average salt display 3900
Pool temp 78
Cell Voltage - 25.2
Cell current (Amperage). 6.96
Desired output (% of the knob) 59p
Instant salinity -3800
Product name AL-0
Software revision (r.XX) 1.59
Cell type. -15

OK, the salt is a little bit high, so I was worried about the amperage getting close to 8.0.

If the water temperature was higher, then you would probably be hitting 8.0 amps.

As long as the amperage is 7.5 amps or lower, you should not be in danger of a high salt shutdown.

Thanks,

Is there a calculator for determining the run time of the SWG? I have no idea where to set it for desired output.

The T-15 will produce about 23 ounces (weight) of chlorine gas in 24 hours.

For a 35,000 gallon pool, that's about 4.9 ppm.

So, if you need 2.45 ppm, you can run for 12 hours at 100% or 24 hours at 50% or some combination that creates the same amount of chlorine.
