Appropriate tile?

Hello TFP Community,

Our pool is about 8 years old. We would like to replace the tile on the back wall, which is approximately 4 foot high and has a section that is underwater. Please see the attached picture.

I've read on the forum that it is important to use pool tile. We like the look of the tile in the link below. The specifications do not specifically say it can be used in pools, but one of the images is of a pool. There are also very similar tiles by the same manufacturer that are just different mosaic configurations that also have pictures of pool installations. Is it okay to use this tile for our pool?

A follow up question: this looks to be the exact same tile but the brand is EliteTile not Merola. It is cheaper from Wayfair than Home Depot. This is the same tile, right?

Thank you in advance for your help.

The tile manufacturer needs to state the tile is suitable for submerged use and meets applicable ANSI standards. There is no way to tell visually that a tile is suitable.

Tiles that look the same can be made of different quality materials and process.
