APC 365 Auto Pool Cover

I am planning to build a 12x40 steel wall pool and install an APC 365 auto cover in the coping. I would like to install the cover housing box at the deep end of the pool but do not want a diving board. I would like to be able to jump or dive off the lid of the cover housing. Does anyone have any experience with this system? Is jumping or diving from this lid feasible? The manufacturer thinks it should not be a problem and says that the 365 lid is much stronger than the lid that comes with the APC Autogard unit.

Does not seem that many people jump off their cover housing. Let us know how it works for you.

I would not recommend standing or jumping off of a metal lid. they are not rated for that weight from any of the manufacturers. Some do have a stone lid option that is designed with brackets that are strong enough to hold the weight though.

and my lid is waaaay hotter than the pool deck too... i avoid stepping on it

I walk on my coping but not the cover lid.
