Anyone use something like this?

So I'm pretty new to testing my own water. And it's hot here. 95 at the moment. I've been wondering about this and looked it up on Amazon. Is there any reason why I couldn't use something like this to collect one sample of pool water (also deeper than I can do from my knees on the edge), and then bring it inside and do my tests for the 5 different chemicals? And yes, I'm old and not 25 any longer lol.

No reason why not. Might need to take the tube to a dowel so it will go down into water.

I’d search for “Water sample collector” here in TFP, lots of creative solutions!

With the exception of the CYA dot, I do all my testing indoors. I find it convenient to work at the kitchen sink.

It'd probably be a bit messy. Though it might finally make Mr Funnyman the Googely eye play nice. Blind his no good rump with a nice shot and then you'll BOTH be squinting for the CYA test.

But yeah. I'd put a cup on a table, fill that with the squirter, then go inside to test everything but CYA. (Go back out to test CYA when necessary)

Two foot length of ½" PVC pipe ($2).

Use it like a big straw. Put your thumb over one end, dip the other end ~18" below the surface, momentarily release your thumb and the pipe fills with water, put your thumb back on, and extract the water filled pipe.

Empty the pipe's water into a plastic condiment bottle ($1). Makes dispensing sample water very easy and precise. Arm stays dry too.

So do I. Bring them 1 sample in a random container & they'll give you a free bottle you never have to bring back. Just don't buy anything they want to sell you except generic chemicals like LC, MA, or CYA.

It looks like it might be a bit difficult to rinse out properly. Pjt’s 1/2 pipe and a condiment bottle might be a better choice.

Thanks. Yep. I think the condiment bottle is the answer and have one on order.
