anybody replaced the tracks on a SE/S200 robot?

Mine is about 2 years old and stays in the water and runs daily except for a couple months a year when its cold.
This year it seems to be getting stuck on the main drain cover all the time and does underwater burnouts :)
Wondering if the tracks wear and replacing them would help, look to be about $50 a set.

Mark,

Not sure that is your problem, but I have an S200 at a rent house pool and after a few years it started to intermittently hang up on the main drain. I replaced the tracks and it seemed to cure the problem, at least temporarily.

I am one of these idiots that does not read the instruction first. I replaced the tracks without removing the side panels. Once I saw how easy it was to remove the side covers it made it much easier to do the second time..

Thanks,

Jim R.

The tracks wear mostly on gunite pools fairly fast but with good house cleaning you can give it a longer life. After observing many robots in many pools whether tracks or wheels I've come to the conclusion plaster pools are rough and the most wear happens as it climbs the walls with diminished water flow due to debris in the basket and there is slippage relative to its movement. I've also seen where the baskets were full without diminished flow but the extra weight makes climbing more of a chore again slippage of the drive tracks or wheels will cut down the rubber of the traction surface.

I watched a video of a guy prying them off with the side panel on..Then another one where they took the panels off and it did look a lot easier :)

Thanks, mine is fairly rough and when it gets stuck it sits there and spins, guessing it's trying to heat the tracks up for better Traction :)
