Any thoughts on dreame Z1

I've got the non-Pro Z1 version. Have been using ~3 weeks. Going well for me, though a pretty straightforward 18'x40' rectangular with some stairs on one end. It's accurately mapped the pool, now avoids colliding with the two main drain bumps, and parks itself for 5 mins after it's done so you can retrieve it poolside if you're home. Otherwise, I've just used the hook to pull it out when it's done.

Won't say it's extraordinary but does look like a good replacement for a Polaris 280, for example. Would like to compare to the Beatbot Aquasense2 since that latter robot is a 2nd gen product (and Dreame Z1 is a 1st-gen).
Mine mapped the pool finally to nothing like mine and then literally would follow the same path to my main drain. I sent back and they are supposed to send a replacement and extend the return period. It was super cheap on flash sale so I'd like it to work.

I just started using mine today and so far its been great. Mapped the pool No problem. Didn't get stuck in my main drains at all which my Nautulus CC plus always did. Also didn't get stuck on my buddy seats which my old robot did too.

Yea I’m hoping they just had a bad batch and the new one will work
Hope so. Only real drawback ive noticed so far is when doing floor only it stays about 8 inches off the wall the whole time so it doesnt get things where the wall and floor meet. When i do a standard clean (floor, wall, waterline) it gets the edges and corners. Since my pool is only 6 feet deep, my deep end has a taper and considers the slight angle the wall so I'll always be doing the floor and wall to get every part

Ran my z1 pro yesterday and thought it was doing good until I checked my pool. As you can see it doesnt clean everywhere. It left a few streaks of silt on the bottom and then this large patch. It must not have even ran this section over once.

Dang that’s a lot of the pool. Replacement says Saturday arrival. At least yours mapped the pool. Hopefully it maps mine this time. Yours is rectangle. I think these things struggle with kidney for mapping. I’m gonna miss my fantikk cleaner. Misses all the corners but the buoy is game changing. Can control in the water. No stupid hook needed.

It randomly stops on 1 section of my pool and I have to fet it with the hook and move it. It also was set on walls only today and started doing the floor. Then started spinning in place for 2 minutes before I grabbed it. I think theres some software bugs they need to figure out

I have a feeling it’s going to need to go back. I told them to send me the remote for trading so long and they said I don’t have the pro so it wouldn’t work with my unit. lol. Like anyone thinks they are selling two different units and not just selling one with a remote and one without.

I got the new replacement. Now my app doesn’t show maps at all. They claim a new firmware will fix. The robot is working better meaning it’s actually climbed a wall but even in lab mode with enhanced obstacle avoidance it literally drives over to the main drain. Appears to stop for a second and then drives right on. The marketing clearly showed it avoiding it.

I’m debating whether to return and get a bn pro robotic. The buoy is really useful. No dang hook.

It’s so cheap though that I’m trying to make it work. They sent a cash back for social media review that I could get my price down to 580 or even less. That’s super cheap.

I also couldn't get my maps to show up.
You have to go to lab mode then map display

When I toggle that on it just turns on but when I go back in it’s off
Weird. Mine also toggles off but the map still shows. My z1 pro is very good about going around the main drains. There are definitely some bugs to work out which I've been talking to them about. All my issues are software related so hoping updates fix them.

I deleted my account deleted the app, and reset the robot. No difference. For the drains, it drives up, appears to stop for a split second, then instead of avoiding or even putting one set of tracks over the drain, it goes full bore over the drain
