Any Hayward Gasket Tips?

I have replaced a bulb and am having trouble reassembling the fixture.
I did the same thing last year and it took me an hour. This time I have worked
On it for 5 hours and still can’t get it. Same gasket as before. I can not get
The light and lens close enough for the band to seat around both.
