I have had my Polaris P825 for about a year and am pretty satisfied with it. I love the easy clean basket and it climbs the walls well. Wish it had a "no tangle" swivel and a remote control, though.
I have always used the cleaner with the original basket that comes with the unit and I feel it sometimes does not catch the finer stuff.... just stirs it up. I remember Leslie's telling me there is another basket available with an even finer mesh.... I think for about $60. Before I plunk down that extra money for the basket, I was wondering if anyone has purchased the extra fine mesh basket for the P825 and if it works any better. Here is what I found on the Polaris site... if you click on "Parts" you will see the 2 different baskets available.

Thanks for any info on using the Fine Filter Canister vs. the General Purpose Canister with this cleaner.
One more thought. I read a post recently where a TFP member used a hairnet on his skimmer instead of a skimmer sock and got to thinking that I might be able to slip a hair net over the edges of the General Purpose Canister and catch more of the finer stuff without investing another $60. Worth a try or bad idea? I sure don't want to ruin the machine by trying this.
