I noticed there are salt cells that are WAY cheaper than the $750 fusionsoft 1400 (40k gallon version).

Bottom line, are there cheaper cells that will work with this unit? Was this a bad purchase for the fusionsoft 1400 system with Jandy?

Thank you.

There are cheaper aftermarket cells but reports suggest they don't last very long. I just got an OEM cell. It is what it is.

A SWG is the most economical way of chlorinating your pool.

You see shrinkflation in products you buy where there is less product in the same size box or bottle? Well you see the same in clone SWG cells with less rare earths on the plates which wear out sooner then OEM cells. In general you get what you pay for.

A clone cell may be a decent buy at half the price if it runs more than half the time of an OEM cell. But it is not the bargain you think it is if you expect the same lifespan from the clone cell as the OEM cell.

I can't even find the OEM FSOFT1400....only the generic r0503000. Unless you are saying the ro503000 is considered OEM.

thank you!

Holy moly, i just searched again on amazon today and found the R0503000 for $529! That's the cheapest I've seen it in a couple months.
This is the one I just saw for $529:
