I am looking between the Hayward Swim Clear 425sq and the Pentair Clean and Clear 420sq for a 15,000 galloon pool. Are there any major differences or things to consider when choosing between the two? Replacement cartridges look to be priced similarly. From looking at posts Pentair seems to be highly recommended. Home Depot sells the Hayward filter and I can receive 10% off with my military discount. I am just trying to figure out if the $150 savings is worth it to steer away from the Pentair. Thanks!

I used two of these filter to replace to old DE filter.. (One 325 and one 425..) They worked well and I like them better than my Pentair CCP-520.. I like the drain plug placement better and the band better.. The pressure gauge is smaller and inside a ring.. I no longer have the rent house pools where I installed them.. If I did, I'd replace them with 30 lb. gauges..

Some of you may have read my threats to replace the two DE filters I have at a couple of rent house.. Well, one of them finally went bad. The ring would no longer seal the filter when fully closed, so I took that as an opportunity to replace it with a Waterway filter from PolyTec pools...
